Projects

Autonomous multi-agent tracking system

Senior design team, Spring 2026

A drone and a ground vehicle that work together to find and follow a target, linked by bidirectional telemetry. I owned the ground vehicle's electrical integration, power architecture, component selection and hardware troubleshooting, from concept through system testing.

  • Fixed random resets at the sourceThe Pi kept browning out. I traced it to motor startup current sagging a shared supply, then split power onto a dedicated 7.4 V battery with a buck converter regulated to 5.1 V. The resets stopped.
  • Connected compute to motionLinked the Raspberry Pi and Arduino Mega over UART for motor control, and tied in LiDAR sensing, ROS 2 mapping and YOLOv8 + PID tracking for system-level testing.
  • Designed the power railsSeparate motor and compute rails with decoupling, so noisy loads can't take down the computer.

Light-activated sensor system PCB in progress

STM32 NUCLEO-F446RE, Altium Designer, Fall 2026

Embedded C firmware that samples a light-dependent resistor on the 12-bit ADC and switches an output using hysteresis thresholds, streaming readings over UART. I tracked down a USART2 configuration fault that was blocking serial output. Now designing a custom PCB in Altium: schematic, footprints and layout.

RTL-SDR signal detection In progress

Raspberry Pi 4, GNU Radio, Python

A headless Pi receiving station with three tools: a real-time FM receiver, a spectrum scanner that estimates the noise floor and logs signals above a threshold, and an ADS-B tracker that decodes aircraft transponders at 1090 MHz and maps their tracks.

STM32 peripherals and hardware debug

Embedded C, Keil MDK, Summer 2025

Configured and checked UART, SPI, I2C and GPIO on ARM Cortex-M, using an oscilloscope and logic analyzer to inspect signal timing. Also wrote ARM Cortex-M assembly.

Digital logic and VLSI design

Coursework, 2025–2026

CMOS circuits including carry look-ahead adders, Booth multipliers and SRAM. In Verilog and VHDL: a vending-machine FSM with testbench, a FIFO buffer with status flags, and a multi-bit arithmetic unit, all checked in simulation.

Obstacle avoidance robot

Ratliff Relay Robotics Competition, 2024

Did the power calculations and picked the components, integrated ultrasonic, IR and vision sensors with Arduino motor control, and debugged the hardware live during the competition.

Smaller builds

Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Fusion 360

A line-tracking robot that recognizes faces and tags with HuskyLens, a Raspberry Pi home security camera with motion detection, and a 3D-printed trash can that opens with a hand wave.

Let's talk

I'm looking for embedded, hardware and systems engineering roles starting in 2027, in Houston, Dallas or anywhere I can build real hardware and keep learning.
